The Death of Superman

Superman foils an attempted abduction of the Metropolis mayor by Intergang. He defeats the attackers and takes a piece of their technology back to S.T.A.R. Labs for analysis, setting in motion a chain of investigations.

Lois Lane interviews Superman about his family heritage and how he came to Earth. The piece frames his dual identity and hints at how his past will shape future events.

That night, Lois meets Clark Kent's adoptive parents, building a personal connection to Clark's Earth life. The meeting underscores the differences between Clark's public heroism and his private family ties.

At S.T.A.R. Labs, Dr. Silas Stone and Dr. John Henry Irons verify that the Intergang tech combines Apokoliptian and Earth technology. This discovery prompts Superman to suspect Lex Luthor, though Luthor denies involvement.

In space, Hank Henshaw and his crew, including his wife Terri, are struck by a meteorite, killing Terri and the rest of the crew. Hank's fate is left unknown as the meteor's impact reverberates back to Earth.

After the meteor crashes into the ocean, Luthor sends a team to investigate, but they are attacked by the mysterious being in a containment suit. The crew is killed, marking the monster's first kill spree beyond space.

Separately, Atlantis also dispatches a crew to track the creature, only to be attacked and slain. The being's power proves overwhelming to all explorers.

The unknown being heads toward Metropolis and tears through the city as the Justice League arrives to confront it. It injures Hawkman, Green Lantern, and the Flash in a matter of minutes, and then takes down Aquaman, Cyborg, Martian Manhunter, and Batman.

In a moment at a restaurant owned by a Superman fan, Clark reveals to Lois that he is Superman and that he loves her. Meanwhile, Luthor contemplates seizing the opportunity to destroy the monster and claim the glory for himself.

The being enters Metropolis and nearly kills Wonder Woman as Superman intervenes, destroying its containment suit with heat vision. Doomsday is revealed as a gray-skinned, white-haired monster with immense strength and stamina.

Doomsday and Superman wage a devastating battle across Metropolis, shaking the city with seismic blows. On a bridge leading out of the city, Superman ties the monster down to safeguard civilians before continuing the fight.

In the final clash, Superman tries to hurl Doomsday from Earth’s orbit but is overwhelmed. Doomsday kills him by snapping his neck after Lois distracts the beast with a confession of love. Superman dies in Lois's arms as the world watches in shock.

A state funeral honors Superman, with Luthor speaking on behalf of the Justice League. The Kent family welcomes Lois into their circle as they grieve together for a hero who saved the world.

In the wake of his death, LexCorp continues experiments and a surviving Superman clone emerges. Irons forges his own steel Superman suit, while Superman’s rocket buries itself in the North Pole, giving rise to the Fortress of Solitude. A Superman-like cyborg then flies toward Earth, signaling a new chapter.
