In a quiet town, a hopping Chinese vampire spreads terror. A bumbling itinerant warrior senses the creature’s evil but is dismissed by doubtful townsfolk and an egotistical Taoist priest. At the same time, a caring yet strict middle‑aged stage actor watches over a group of orphaned children, who unwittingly befriend the vampire’s son, unaware of his true nature.
