“Is this all there is to life?” the donkey wonders after being dismissed from the Animal‑Adventure Park. Encouraged by compliments on his lovely voice, he heads for Bremen to become a musician. On the road he meets a drumming dog bound for an asylum, a desperate rooster and a cat, all gifted performers. They form a band, share a series of adventures, and at last take the stage together in Bremen.
