Yuen Woo‑Ping, later a renowned martial‑arts choreographer, staged the fight scenes in this kung‑fu action film. A small Chinese village is torn apart by a clash between local farmers and mercenary Japanese soldiers hired to secure a rare Chinese herb. A skilled fighter, versed in both Chinese and Japanese styles, arrives and decides to end the feud.
