A grotesque grind‑house pastiche of Poe’s “Murders in the Rue Morgue,” the film follows a carnival barker who unleashes a 400‑pound gorilla that tears through Long Island, leaving a trail of sexual violence and brutal murders. Directed by indie maverick Keith J. Crocker, it revels in over‑the‑top gore, crude camp and unapologetic exploitation, earning bans from festivals and scorn from critics while courting fans of extreme ‘70s‑era drive‑in horror.
