Returning to his childhood friend JP, Francis finds himself in the decaying world of the troubled Luret family's estate. As they reconnect, unsettling events begin to occur within the isolated house, creating an atmosphere of despair and mystery. Francis must confront a web of betrayal as he desperately seeks a way to escape the eerie and suffocating horror that threatens to consume them both.

Patrick Picard's The Bloodhound reworks the atmosphere and relational pattern of Poe's “The Fall of the House of Usher” through Francis, who answers an invitation from his wealthy, isolated friend Jean Paul and stays in a decaying Los Angeles residence haunted by an absent twin sister. The contemporary film builds its own ambiguous household routines, dependency, surveillance, and possibly supernatural intrusions rather than retelling Roderick and Madeline's burial. Poe's visitor, disturbed host, twin presence, enclosing house, and collapse of rational certainty form the deliberate Gothic framework.
