A charismatic troupe is hired by Judge Culliman, a gubernatorial hopeful, to boost his campaign. When the judge becomes drunk and the troupe’s crooner, Eric Land, delivers the speech, backers persuade him to replace the judge as the party’s nominee. Amid musical numbers, romance blooms and political corruption swirls, ending in a dramatic showdown.
