Choujinki Metalder, the sixth and briefest Metal Hero Series, aired from March 16 1987 to January 17 1988 for 39 episodes, the first Sunday broadcast. It echoes Toei’s Android Kikaider in theme, characters and armor. Footage was reused in the first two seasons of VR Troopers. In 2007 Toei issued a 7‑disc DVD set of the series and film, titled Metalder.
