After his father's death, Sebastian develops pathological fears and vivid hallucinations, believing his death wishes trigger disastrous accidents beyond his control. When his older brother dies, he blames himself. Despite hypnosis, his seeming supernatural abilities persist, and as his own end approaches he grows increasingly violent and sadistic.
