Adapted from Dezső Kosztolányi’s novel, this Hungarian drama is set at turn of the twentieth century. A modest young woman cares for her mother and retired father, whose devotion isolates them from society. When she visits her uncle, the parents realize how disconnected they have become and confront their selfish attitudes toward their daughter.
