Umekichi, a geisha in Kyoto’s Gion district, shelters her bankrupt lover Furusawa after he abandons his wife. Her younger sister Omocha scolds her for wasting time on a loser and urges them to secure wealthy patrons. Determined, Omocha hatches schemes to oust Furusawa and find richer benefactors for both sisters.
