In 1993, Washington State enacted a three-strikes law that sentenced children to life imprisonment without parole. Initially feared as dangerous superpredators, this film explores the stories of these individuals, now adults nearly forty years later. “Since I Been Down” examines the impact of this policy, showcasing their resilience and demonstrating a powerful path toward justice and healing from within prison walls, while also highlighting that sixteen states continue to hold children in prison for life.
