Silas is a 1981 ZDF adventure mini‑series adapting Cecil Bødker’s Danish children’s book “Silas og den sorte hoppe”. Filmed entirely in German, it launched Patrick Bach’s career; his success earned him a lead in the next year’s adventure series Jack Holborn, produced with international partners and filmed in English. The show gained attention beyond German‑speaking audiences.
