Siege is a 1940 documentary short showing the Wehrmacht’s siege of Warsaw at the start of World II. Filmed by Pennsylvania photographer‑cameraman Julien Bryan, it earned an Oscar nomination for One‑Reel Short in 1941. In 2006 the Library of Congress placed it in the National Film Registry, calling it a unique, horrifying record of war’s brutality.
