Shriek of the Mutilated

Professor Prell hosts a dinner the night before the field trip, and Keith samples an exotic dish called gin sung. The mood hints at ritual significance and the seriousness of the expedition. The rest of the group then heads to an off-campus party where Spencer St. Clair tells a chilling story about Prell's last expedition.

After the party, Spencer St. Clair fights his wife and slits her throat in a brutal act. He returns home and is killed when his wife exacts her vengeance by dumping a toaster into the bath, electrocuting him. The violent turn foreshadows the danger lurking in the expedition.

In the morning, Prell travels with his four students to Boot Island and meets Dr. Karl Werner, who lives with his mute servant Laughing Crow. Werner has recently seen the Yeti and offers a scientific take that the creature is marooned by melting ice. The uneasy atmosphere hints at hidden motives among the group.

The group dines on gin sung and settles in for the night. Tom serenades them with a song about the Yeti, easing nerves while deepening the mystery. Sleep follows as the island's chill deepens the sense of danger.

The next day, Tom sneaks off to hunt and is killed by the Yeti in the woods. The group searches for him the following morning, their fear mounting as the predator seems to stalk them. The hunt raises the stakes for the expedition.

Karen discovers Tom's severed leg and rifle the next morning, while Lynn is frightened by something in Werner's greenhouse and is killed by the Yeti in the surrounding woods. The group realizes the danger is closer than ever. The deaths sever the group's trust and solidify the threat.

The group discovers the house phone is out of order, forcing them to improvise against the Yeti. Prell decides to use Tom's leg as bait to lure the creature into a trap, showing his willingness to exploit danger for his experiment. The tension among the survivors grows as the plan forms.

The trap fails when the Yeti escapes with Tom's leg, and Prell returns claiming the monster knocked him down. The group is forced to reconsider their approach as fear and mistrust mount. The hunt becomes more personal and perilous.

Prell proposes a second bait using Lynn's body, and Karen tries to hide it in the greenhouse. She then discovers the rest of Tom's body and faints. The gruesome findings reveal the depth of the danger and the professor's moral rot.

When Karen awakens, Prell coldly tells her it must have been a dream, but she doesn't believe him. She joins the effort to photograph evidence and agrees to leave the island if possible. The team ties Lynn's corpse to a tree to set the next trap.

The Yeti appears and Keith tracks it by the sound of its heartbeat, only to realize the heartbeat comes from a nearby speaker. He is knocked out before he can react. The deception advances as the killer's ruse continues.

At the house, Laughing Crow is listening to a recording of the heartbeat, revealing that Prell and Werner are part of a cannibalistic cult. The Yeti is actually Werner in disguise, exposing the true danger behind the expedition. The revelation shatters any remaining trust among the survivors.

Keith returns with a police officer only to discover that the officer is also a cannibal. Prell and Werner explain that the gin sung the group consumed is human flesh, and they invite Keith to join their cult. The island's nightmare closes in as the group seals its fate.

They bring Karen's body into the house and Laughing Crow brandishes an electric carving knife, asking the final, chilling question, 'Mr. Henshaw—white meat or dark?' The cannibal cult asserts its dominance as the fate of all is sealed. The film ends with a horrifying invitation to join the cult.
