Severance

A fallen tree blocks the road, stopping the Palisade Defence bus. The driver refuses to take a dirt road through the woods and, after an argument, drives off, leaving the group to walk the remaining distance to the lodge.

At the old lodge, manager Richard persuades them to enter despite its disrepair. Inside, they discover a file cabinet full of Palisade documents written in Russian. Harris recalls the lodge's past as a mental institution and a nerve gas operation, while Jill recalls it as a reeducation center for war criminals; both mention a lone survivor who swore revenge on Palisade.

Steve begins to recount the lodge's past as a clinic. He discovers a human tooth embedded in the meat pie served for dinner. Chastising Gordon for serving it, the group heads to bed.

During the night, Jill spots someone looking into the lodge from the trees, but no intruder is found outside. The incident unsettles the group, and, except for Richard, they decide to leave at first light.

Richard sends Harris and Jill to the hill to call the driver back. Reaching the hill, they find the bus abandoned and the driver dead in a nearby creek.

Back at the lodge after the hill, Gordon steps into a bear trap; the others fail to pry it open. Harris and Jill arrive with the bus, load everyone, and head back toward town.

A spike strip is placed in front of the bus, causing a crash on the return journey. Harris is decapitated when thrown clear, and Jill is tied to a tree, doused with gasoline, and burned alive.

Back at the lodge, the remaining four discover a newly opened door to an underground prison. They find Gordon dead with a Palisade logo carved into his torso, and a poacher shoots at them, forcing them to hide in a cell, where Billy dies from a chest wound.

Richard escapes into the woods. Meanwhile, Maggie falls through the rickety floor during a confrontation, and after the poacher falls through a hole and becomes stuck, Maggie retrieves his gun and kills him.

Five armed poachers stand outside the lodge, threatening Maggie and Steve. Richard, trapped on a Palisade land mine, guides them through the minefield and ultimately sacrifices himself by stepping off the mine, killing himself and two poachers.

Steve and Maggie reach the real Palisade lodge and find their boss George partying with two escorts. George fires a prototype missile launcher at the approaching poachers, but the missile instead hits a passing jet, destroying it. The five poachers flee into the woods, and George is killed next.

Maggie is captured by a poacher who tries to rape her, but she overpowers him and smashes his head with a rock. Steve kills two more poachers during the ensuing struggle. Steve, Maggie, and the escorts reach a rowboat and paddle off to safety.
