During the final days of the German occupation in the Giant Mountains, a group of courageous children undertake a perilous mission. They work together to rescue a downed French pilot, passing him from village to village like a relayed secret message. The children's actions are fraught with danger, as they must evade occupying soldiers, outsmart treacherous informers, and endure the brutal winter conditions in the mountains.
