Savior

In Paris, Joshua Rose loses his wife and son in a bombing carried out by Islamic terrorists. Immediately after the transfer ceremony, he storms a nearby mosque and shoots several worshipers. His friend Peter is forced to shoot one of the survivors, and to avoid arrest they flee and join the French Foreign Legion, with Joshua adopting the name 'Guy'.

Years later, now calling himself Guy, he fights for the Bosnian Serbs alongside Peter. They are stationed on a bridge that separates Bosniaks, with Guy manning a sniper post above the water. Guy witnesses Peter's death at a checkpoint and then shoots a boy crossing the bridge.

During a ceasefire, Guy and the Bosnian Serb soldier Goran enter a house on the Bosniak side and find an elderly bedbound Muslim woman and a dead woman. A hidden baby lies in a wardrobe, and Goran ruthlessly hacks a finger from an old Bosniak woman to steal a ring.

Helicopters attack the town, forcing people to take cover. Guy stays exposed in the open and returns to the house, only to discover that both the child and the old woman have been killed by falling rubble.

Guy and Goran prepare for a prisoner exchange with the Bosnian forces. At the exchange point, Vera, a young Serb prisoner, is revealed to be pregnant from rape. They take Vera in Goran's car and drive toward her village.

Inside the car, Goran berates Vera for her pregnancy and begins to abuse her. He throws Vera out in a tunnel and starts to kick her as she lies on the ground, forcing premature labor. Guy kills Goran and then helps deliver the baby.

The baby girl is born, and Vera initially rejects the child and even attempts to shoot herself. Guy intervenes to stop her and ensures the newborn’s safety.

They reach Vera's village but are shunned by Vera's family due to the shame surrounding the birth. They press on toward a refugee camp and the UN zone in Split, with a Croat elder commenting on how the war has changed people.

Vera is captured with other civilians by the Croatian Defense Council (HVO) and taken to the waterfront, where the HVO beats several to death with a sledgehammer and shoots the rest. Guy hides in a boat, unable to intervene, and is forced to smother the baby to keep her quiet; the child is later resuscitated.

Guy eventually boards a bus toward Split with the baby, leaving Vera's baby in an unattended Red Cross vehicle and writing the name 'Vera' on a piece of paper before walking toward a pier and tossing his rifle into the water, exhausted and changed.

A woman who had been on the bus with him approaches, carrying the girl and offering to help. She asks whether the baby is his, and he confirms that she is, acknowledging the obligation and uncertainty that lies ahead.

On a Split pier, the woman promises to take them to a hospital, leaving the future of Guy and the baby hanging in the balance. The film closes on a somber note, with Guy's endurance and the baby's fragile fate unresolved.
