Satya arrives in Mumbai in search of work and starts at a dance bar. He earns a living but quickly earns the ire of Jagga, who disrespects him by tossing back the whiskey Satya prepared. The clash marks Satya's entry into the city’s criminal underworld.

Pakya, Jagga’s lieutenant, demands money from Satya. Satya refuses to pay and retaliates by slashing Pakya’s face with a razor, signaling his defiance. Jagga’s goons beat Satya in retaliation.

Bapu and Vitthal Manjrekar murder a film producer on Bhiku Mhatre’s orders, signaling the reach of the underworld. Manjrekar is captured by police and confesses Mhatre’s involvement to Inspector Khandilkar, leading to Mhatre’s arrest.

Jagga frames Satya for procuring; Satya is jailed. In prison, Mhatre, impressed by Satya’s courage, helps arrange his release through lawyer Chandrakant Mule. This marks the start of Satya’s alliance with Mhatre.

Satya is given a flat by Kallu Mama and meets Vidya, his neighbor and aspiring singer. A bond forms as Satya helps Vidya navigate the city’s cutthroat landscape. Their relationship begins to take shape.

With Mhatre’s backing, Satya shoots Jagga in the dance bar, establishing his loyalty to Mhatre’s gang. He ceases to be a lone fighter and embraces the brutal code of the underworld. Satya’s entry into the gang marks a new phase.

Malhotra, a builder extorting money, asks for a meeting with the gang. Under questioning, Satya and Mhatre admit they are working for Guru Narayan, deepening the gang’s conflict with Narayan. The alliance tightens around Narayan’s power.

Vidya’s ambition meets resistance when Renusagar, a music director, initially rejects her. Satya threatens the director and secures Vidya a project, accelerating her rising career. Satya and Vidya’s romance deepens.

Guru Narayan arrives in Mumbai, prompting Bhau Thakurdas Jhawle to urge his followers not to start a war. Narayan privately declares his intent to kill Satya to avenge Jagga, a plan Bhau keeps from Mhatre. The tension between Narayan and the city factions grows.

Satya pressures Mhatre to kill Narayan; Mhatre’s gang kills Narayan, sparking a direct confrontation with Bhau. The city teeters on the edge of a full-blown gang war as political power collides with crime.

A new police commissioner, Amod Shukla, is appointed to tackle rising crime. Bhau forgives Mhatre for past actions, but a police encounter—featuring Chander Khote—tests the gang’s resilience. Shukla’s authority becomes a volatile factor as crime and politics collide.

Satya and Vidya go to the cinema; Pakya spots Satya and informs the police. Satya shoots a blank cartridge to trigger a stampede and escape with Vidya. Later, Mhatre suggests moving them to Dubai for safety.

That night, Bhau’s political machine orchestrates the fall of Mhatre for disobedience and Narayan’s killing. Mhatre is killed, and Satya’s world grows ever more dangerous as power shifts in the city.

Mule orders Kallu Mama to kill Satya, but Mama instead kills Mule. This sets the stage for a personal vendetta to avenge Mhatre’s murder and destabilizes the gang’s already fragile loyalties.

During Ganesh Chaturthi on a Mumbai beach, Satya shoots Bhau and is wounded. He moves toward Vidya’s door, but Khandilkar arrives and shoots Mama. Satya is struck by a final shot and collapses a few inches from Vidya, dying in her arms.
