Satan’s Triangle

Lieutenant Commander Pagnolini and winchman Haig answer an SOS and locate the derelict schooner Requite. They approach the silent wreck and prepare for a descent to search for survivors. Tension runs high as they close in on the ship adrift at sea.

Haig lowers into the Requite and discovers Eva, the sole survivor, cowering in a cabin. Three dead bodies lie scattered around the ship, victims of a brutal encounter. Eva clings to life as the vessel seems haunted by an unseen threat.

While trying to recover Haig and Eva with a rescue basket, the line breaks and they plunge into the ocean. They struggle through the cold water and wreckage, fighting to stay together as the boat pulls away. Exhausted but alive, they manage to reach the rescue craft.

Back on the Requite, the pilot informs Haig that they must return to base because fuel is borderline. The decision casts a pall as darkness settles and the crew weighs the risks of pressing on. Eva and Haig exchange wary glances, aware that danger lingers.

During the long night, Eva recounts the storm that killed everyone else aboard and the strange events that followed. She recalls a drifting priest who might be connected to the misfortune. The tale feeds Eva's fear that something supernatural is at play.

Haig listens with a practical mind, offering rational explanations for the events onboard. He suggests that many 'haunted' occurrences could be misinterpreted or misperceived. His calm, methodical approach provides Eva with a glimmer of reassurance.

Early the next morning, the Coast Guard cutter Venturous arrives to continue the operation. Haig and Eva are transferred from the Requite to the Venturous deck and prepared for a helicopter ride back to Miami. A sense of transition accompanies the shift from survival on the schooner to a new phase of rescue.

On the Venturous, the captain tells Haig that what they found on the Requite contradicts his account. The body hanging from the mast is revealed to be a woman, not a man. The revelation deepens the mystery surrounding the voyage and Haig's earlier statements.

Eva grins evilly, then seems to transform into the priest and claims Haig. She pushes him out of the helicopter, sending him plummeting toward the sea. The sudden supernatural reversal throws the mission into chaos and danger.

The priest orders Captain Pagnolini to beg for salvation, but Pagnolini rejects the Devil. The priest kills him without touching him, and the helicopter crashes into the sea. Chaos erupts as the crew fights for survival amid the wreckage.

The priest survives and floats away, while Haig inexplicably comes back to life. He waves at a distant rescue ship approaching, but wears an evil grin that hints at something malevolent within. The ending leaves Eva's fate uncertain and suggests Haig's transformation.
