At 24, virtuoso pianist Rémi Bonnet quits classical studies to pursue his passion for salsa. He moves to Paris, the European salsa hub, only to find the scene rejects a white newcomer. Guided by Cuban friend Felipe, Rémi adopts a new persona and is hired by aging composer Barreto to teach dance. While training locals, he falls for Nathalie, whose family secrets tie her to Barreto, complicating his quest for acceptance on and off the dance floor.
