Set in 1978 France, a group of young military recruits covertly excavate an underground tunnel beneath their barracks in order to reach the girls' boarding school situated directly opposite. Their secret endeavor drives the film's tension as they work toward the hidden passage. The story examines youthful rebellion and the lengths they will go to cross forbidden boundaries.
