Meanwhile, Terry Barkley, a talented flautist, is introduced as she cruises in her stylish Excalibur Phateon. Accompanied by her friend Lana, Terry's affluent lifestyle starkly contrasts with Bobby's carefree skating existence.

During a skate on the boardwalk, Bobby attempts to charm Terry but faces her dismissive attitude. This encounter establishes a tension between the two characters, setting the stage for their evolving relationship.

Fate brings Bobby and Terry together again at Jammer's skating rink. Bobby's heroic actions during a minor crisis impress Terry, leading her to ask for his guidance in skating for an upcoming Roller Disco contest.
