In November 1975, Rocky Balboa faces Spider Rico in the boxing ring. He secures a knockout victory but only walks away with $44, a stark reflection of his struggles in the boxing world.

Rocky Balboa begins to develop feelings for Adrian, a shy woman who lacks self-confidence. Despite her apprehensions, Rocky's persistent kindness eventually draws her closer to him.

To support himself, Rocky takes on odd jobs for Gazzo, a local loan shark. He earns $20 per job, but his conscience prevents him from being ruthless in collecting debts from those who are struggling.

Rocky is expelled from Mickey's Gym, a setback that stings his aspirations. Mickey, the trainer, opts to rent Rocky's locker to a newcomer, reminding Rocky of the harsh realities of the boxing world.

Apollo Creed, the reigning heavyweight champion, becomes intrigued by the idea of boxing a lesser-known fighter for a New Year's Day match. His promoter, Jergens, supports the idea, and they select Rocky, nicknamed 'The Italian Stallion'.

Gazzo encourages Rocky to take Adrian on a date, giving him $50 for the outing. Despite some initial hesitation, Adrian agrees to go out with Rocky, marking a pivotal moment in their blossoming relationship.

With Jergens' offer in hand, Rocky begins a rigorous training regimen under the management of Mickey. He immerses himself in a series of workouts that push his physical limits, fueled by the upcoming fight against Creed.
