A violent storm traps Crusoe, Aynsley, and two cats below deck while the ship's crew escapes. Crusoe is knocked unconscious by a lantern, leaving Aynsley to mourn his master. The ship buckles, and the journey to the New World goes awry.

Crusoe awakens on a mysterious island

Crusoe regains consciousness on the beach and discovers an island inhabited by curious animals. Kiki the kingfisher, Scrubby the goat, Carmello the chameleon, Rosie the tapir, Pango the pangolin, Tuesday the macaw, and Epi the echidna observe him from a distance. The animals are wary of the stranger but curious about what he will do next.

Tuesday is ambushed by Mal and May, but Aynsley drives them away. Crusoe pulls Tuesday from the wreckage and the two form a cautious bond. Aynsley convinces Tuesday that Crusoe is a friend and ally rather than a threat.

Mal and May manipulate the island animals into believing Crusoe murdered Tuesday. They incite the others to attack Crusoe, sowing fear and division. The group becomes divided as trust is tested.

In the ensuing chaos, Aynsley is pinned under a door as the ship wreck catches fire. Tuesday escapes, but Aynsley dies in the explosion. The animals mistakenly think Tuesday is dead, deepening Crusoe's grief and isolation.

Mal and May are thrown into the black water after being driven from the wreck. They wash ashore on Curse Island, a tiny place inhabited by bugs. The pair survive by feeding on bugs and May gives birth to kittens over time.

Battle and the watchtower trap

Crusoe and his animal allies stand against the invading cats. Crusoe is knocked down as Mal sets his home on fire. The friends lure the cats into a wooden watchtower and cause it to collapse, sending the felines into the black water and leaving the wreckage as a makeshift raft.

Smoke rises from the burning ship and Tuesday mounts a daring rescue, freeing Crusoe from a pile of planks. They escape together, but a falling plank knocks Crusoe unconscious. The rest of the animals hurry to his aid as danger looms.

Pirates arrive and capture Crusoe

A crew led by Long John Silver arrives in the vicinity, rescuing Crusoe from immediate danger. Crusoe recounts his story to the captain while Tuesday tells Rufus and Cecil the mice the true version. The pirates plan to set sail for new horizons instead of England, leaving Crusoe in a perilous dilemma.

Escape from the pirates and return to the island

Crusoe, Tuesday, and the mice plot to jump ship and return to the island, while fending off the pirates. The group barely makes it back to safety, with the pirates left on their ship. The surviving cats on the island watch as the humans sail away.
