Raymond Depardon, co‑founder of the Gamma press agency, spent October 1980 following Paris press photographers for a month. Between long waits for a celebrity to emerge from restaurants or hotels and sudden bursts of activity, the cameras capture figures ranging from mayor Jacques Chirac to icons such as Catherine Deneuve, Gene Kelly and Jean‑Luc Godard, showing both humor and ordinary moments behind the chase.
