In 2016, Mikey Saber returns to Texas City after a 17-year absence. He arrives battered and nearly broke, seeking refuge with his estranged wife, Lexi, and her mother, Lil.

Mikey pleads with Lexi and Lil to allow him to stay with them. They agree, but only if he finds a job and starts contributing to the household.

Desperate for employment, Mikey attempts to secure jobs at a local diner and Dollar General. However, his long absence from the workforce, due to his past as a porn star, becomes a significant barrier.

Facing rejection, Mikey turns to Leondria, a marijuana dealer, and convinces her to let him help sell weed. Despite their initial wariness, they start their business together when Mikey brings in some earnings.

Mikey earns enough money to pay a month's rent in advance and treats Lexi and Lil to a celebratory outing at a doughnut shop. There, he meets Strawberry, an attractive 17-year-old cashier.

Mikey’s visits to the doughnut shop become more frequent as he convinces Strawberry to let him sell pot to the construction workers. Their relationship quickly escalates into a sexual affair.

As Mikey and Strawberry grow closer, Lexi invites him to share her bed. Tensions rise when Mikey sneaks away for a weekend with Strawberry, which leads to a confrontation with Lexi.
