In the 1980s Ruhr region, four teenage friends—Frank, Spüli, Mücke, and Pommes—struggle with the awkwardness of first crushes. Their attempts at dancing and forming a band prove unsuccessful, and with little guidance from their parents or teachers, the boys must find their own inventive ways to navigate adolescence and connect with girls. The film humorously portrays their experiences as they search for connection and self-discovery.
