Puss in Boots: The Three Diablos

Puss in Boots rides through a vast desert, deep in thought about the crossroads his life has reached. Italian knights capture him and bring him before Princess Alessandra Bellagamba, who reveals that the Heart of Fire is missing and identifies The Whisperer as the real thief. Her knights have already captured the Whisperer's three henchmen, setting the stakes for the rescue.

The three Diablos are introduced as the Whisperer's henchmen, currently imprisoned by the Princess's guards. Alessandra explains she hired Puss for his reputation to recover the ruby and that the Whisperer is the thief. The Diablos agree to help Puss on the condition that they will be freed if they return the ruby.

Puss leads the Diablos into the desert, but the trio betrays him and buries him alive. He escapes and uses his wide-eyed trick to outmaneuver them, recapturing the fugitives. The harsh heat tests their loyalties and resolve.

That night, Puss speaks with the Diablos about betrayal and loneliness, revealing that they are orphans like him. He recalls Humpty's betrayal and warns that the Whisperer could do the same to them. Inspired by his empathy, the Diablos decide to turn over a new leaf, and Puss takes them under his wing, teaching them how to fight and play. He also gives them names: Perla, Gonzalo, and Sir Timoteo Montenegro the Third.

The fostered trio, now steadier and braver, join Puss on their journey and lead him to the Whisperer's secret hideout. There, the air grows tense as they prepare to confront the thief. Puss trains them to fight and play, and he formally names Perla, Gonzalo, and Sir Timoteo Montenegro the Third.

The Diablos and Puss arrive at the Whisperer's secret hideout, a hidden place beneath the kingdom's outskirts. The Whisperer speaks in a low voice from beneath his hat, wielding the Heart as a belt decoration that signals his vanity and control. The trio steels themselves for the confrontation ahead.

They confront the Whisperer, whose nefarious schemes become clear as he lords over the Heart's power. He is ready to punish the Diablos for their betrayal, but Puss steps forward to challenge him and protect the kids. The stage is set for a decisive showdown.

Puss fights the Whisperer and frees the Diablos from their peril. The three kittens rush to support him as the balance of power shifts in their favor. The Whisperer, unable to maintain control, topples into a bottomless pit while the Heart of Fire remains within reach.
