Twenty‑five years after the ore‑mining vessel Siberia vanished, it reappears on a deadly trajectory toward the Martian communications hub Comstat 5. A careful maneuver spares the crew from colliding with Siberia, but the ship slams into Comstat 5. Boarding the wreck, the team discovers the Siberia crew dead and learns that a malevolent force responsible for the ship’s disappearance is still active, now targeting them as it did the original crew.
