This 1976 musical adaptation of Pinocchio stars Danny Kaye as Geppetto, Sandy Duncan as Pinocchio, with Flip Wilson and Clive Revill in supporting roles. It frames Carlo Collodi’s classic tale as a play performed by a young theater girl who longs to study and work away from her father, casting herself as Pinocchio and him as Geppetto. The meta‑theatrical structure lets her performance mirror the wooden puppet’s journey, presenting the story of the lonely woodcutter and his magical marionette faithfully and with engaging musical numbers.
