Takashi Tsurug and Tomohiko Miwa, close friends and recent university graduates, begin working at a brain research company. Takashi is surprised when Tomohiko introduces him to Mayuko Tsuno as his girlfriend, a woman Takashi had admired from afar during his student days while commuting on the train. He then finds himself in an alternate reality where he is already in a happy relationship with Mayuko. However, as his friend Tomohiko mysteriously disappears, Takashi struggles to distinguish between his memories and what might be imagined, questioning the reality he knows.
