Yakup and Şemsa, Assyrian immigrants living in Berlin with their family, receive a startling phone call from their hometown of Mardin. The call concerns their son Mikhael, presumed lost twenty-five years prior, reopening old wounds and resurfacing the family’s past suffering. Accompanied by their grandchildren, Yakup and Şemsa return to Mardin, where Yakup seeks a door he left behind years ago. During his search, he is joined by his granddaughter Nardin and a local smuggler, embarking on a journey of personal discovery.
