A convict serving his sentence is recruited to rescue a pregnant woman stranded in a tree during the Great Flood of 1927. He places his trust in the raging river to bring them home, while she trusts him. A fierce storm pushes them farther from safety, forcing them to decide whether to strike out on their own or find a way back.
