When Volka discovers an ancient bottle at the river’s bottom and releases its occupant, a centuries‑old genie named Hassan Abdurrahman ibn Khottab—known in Russian as Khottabych—offers to grant his wishes. Though eager to help, the genie’s magic often backfires, leading to comic mishaps that force Volka to choose his desires carefully and grow.
