A revolutionary, portrayed by Cheng Pei‑Pei, assumes the identity of Captain Ou Wei’s long‑lost sister, who in reality died years ago. She successfully dupes the captain for a time, but as subtle clues accumulate he begins to suspect her true motives. Ultimately the captain uncovers her covert plan to sabotage the delicate Chinese‑Japanese relationship, setting the stage for a tense confrontation.
