Fact-based drama tracing Marie Balter’s turbulent life. After a suicide attempt at 16, she spends two decades shuttling between mental institutions. At 36, she joins a home‑based rehabilitation program hosted by a volunteer couple, where she forms a romantic bond with another patient, pursues a college degree, and ultimately builds a lasting career in mental‑health advocacy.
