In a tense atmosphere, a meeting between the Prime Minister and a foreign diplomat is abruptly interrupted by gunfire. The armed rebels, identifiable by their red scarves, execute the leaders, ushering in chaos in the unnamed Southeast Asian country.

Seventeen hours prior to the turmoil, Jack Dwyer embarks on a flight to the Southeast Asian country with his family. He is excited about a new job opportunity with Cardiff, unaware of the dangerous situation they are about to face.

During the flight, the Dwyers meet an enigmatic Englishman named Hammond. He captivates them with a bizarre story about tiger fights that raises the family’s curiosity but also hints at his mysterious background.

Upon arriving, the Dwyers settle into their hotel while Annie expresses distress over their sudden move. Jack attempts to alleviate her worries, but the city’s disconnection from the world adds to their discomfort.

The following morning, Jack searches for news, only to find outdated newspapers. When he steps outside, he witnesses a massive mob of armed civilians confronting riot police, signaling the escalating unrest in the area.

Returning to the hotel, Jack is horrified to witness the execution of a Cardiff employee by armed rebels. This escalates his panic as he realizes the looming danger they face as a family.

In the midst of chaos, Jack discovers that his daughter Lucy has gone missing. As he races against time to find her, Annie courageously barricades the hotel room door, trying to protect Beeze from the intruders.
