Markus Hawemann lives in Brandenburg, struggling to balance caring for his grandmothers—one of whom has dementia—with his desire to move to Berlin and find independence. Overwhelmed and often isolated, he experiences vivid daydreams populated by fantastical demons, symbols of an unconventional, urban family. The arrival of Duc further complicates his situation, as he prepares to leave for the city, boxes already packed and ready to go.
