Karunakaran leaves his indebted village Ambasamudram in hopes of securing a passport and a Dubai bound job. He travels to Mumbai to pursue this dream and hopes the move will lift his family's fortunes. There he stays with his elder sister, who is estranged from their parents.

In Mumbai, Karunakaran reconnects with his childhood friend Chandru, who now leads a comfortable life. Chandru is wary about introducing him to his powerful boss, Suprai, fearing the danger it would bring. The encounter hints at a criminal underworld that runs beneath the city's surface.

Chandru reluctantly brings Karunakaran to Suprai, the gangster who dominates a segment of Mumbai. Karunakaran learns that Chandru is actually a henchman for Supari, tying his fate to a ruthless network. He weighs the appeal of money against the peril of a life of crime.

Facing dire financial need, Karunakaran agrees to join Supari's gang. He steps into intimidation, violence, and illegal schemes as a means to support his family. This choice marks his first deep involvement in organized crime.

During a city wide act of intimidation, Karunakaran saves Nisha from danger and earns her gratitude and affection. She falls in love with him as a result of his courage. Their romance develops amid the dangerous routine of gang life.

Karunakaran uses his criminal earnings to support his family back home and funds renovations that modernize their village house. The new wealth changes the village's perception of him and draws attention from neighbors. But the source of this wealth remains tied to crime.

Supari's feud with Nisha's father Samraj erupts into violence when Samraj and his wife are killed during a break in that also involves Karunakaran, Chandru, and Sonu. Nisha returns to the scene and is shocked to see Karunakaran among the attackers. The alliance between them begins to unravel.

Realizing the danger, Karunakaran protects Nisha and escapes with her, narrating to her that he is not at fault. Supari orders their murder, intensifying the pursuit. The lovers are forced to flee, moving through uncertain terrain to stay alive.

Chandru is killed by Supari's gang during the ongoing chase, severing one more thread of Karunakaran's complicity. The loss pushes Karunakaran to confront the consequences of his choices. In parallel, Tamil Nadu police begin to connect his wealth to criminal activity.

The village learns the truth about Karunakaran's wealth, and his father is publicly insulted as a result. The shame triggers a mass suicide by the entire family, including Karunakaran's younger sister. Karunakaran is left heartbroken by the tragedy caused by his actions.

Heartbroken, Karunakaran resolves to end Supari and escapes with Nisha to Tamil Nadu. He confronts his past and looks for a chance at redemption away from crime. The plan marks a turning point toward peace rather than more violence.

At a temple, Sonu confronts Karunakaran and Nisha, and Karunakaran delivers a long speech about educated youth choosing productive paths over crime. Sonu reforms and chooses to leave them in peace. The couple then prepares for marriage, signaling a hopeful new chapter.
