From an indebted family in Ambasamudram, Karunakaran shoulders a heavy burden as he scrambles to find a suitable groom for his younger sister. With finances stretched thin and every prospective match turning away, he makes the difficult choice to travel to Mumbai to secure a passport and chase a future in Dubai. In the city, he stays with his elder sister, who remains estranged from their parents after having eloped to marry. To fund his plan, he pays a Tamil Nadu agent in Mumbai for a UAE visa, only to discover that the agent is a fraud. Not willing to return empty-handed, he reconnects with his childhood friend, Chandru, who lives a comfortable life in the city. Initially hesitant to introduce him to his boss, the feared Supari, Chandru ultimately guides Karunakaran into the gang world, and Karunakaran accepts the path out of necessity.

During a pivotal moment of terror that shakes Mumbai, he saves Nisha, and she falls in love with him for his bravery. As Karunakaran’s fortunes rise, he is able to support his family back home, and they renovate their house, transforming it into a modern symbol of their newfound success in the village.

Yet a long-standing feud between Supari and Nisha’s father, Samraj, comes to a head when Supari’s gang invades the home and murders Samraj and his wife. Nisha is stunned to find Karunakaran among the intruders and flees to safety. Supari orders the entire family’s destruction, including Nisha, but Karunakaran manages to escape with her, explaining the circumstances and convincing her that he was not at fault.

The pursuit intensifies as Supari closes in on Karunakaran and Nisha. Chandru is killed by Supari’s gang in the crossfire, and Tamil Nadu police uncover Karunakaran’s gangster ties, exposing the village to the truth behind their luxurious life. In the ensuing trauma, Karunakaran’s father is insulted in public, and the family is driven to a mass despair that results in the suicides of his father and younger sister.

Heartbroken yet determined, Karunakaran defeats Supari and flees back to Tamil Nadu with Nisha. Their path leads to a temple meeting where Sonu, still hungry for revenge, hears a long speech from Karunakaran about the value of education and productive work for educated youngsters. The speech softens Sonu, who reforms and chooses peace, allowing Karunakaran and Nisha to stand together ready to marry.

The film also features Roja Selvamani in a supporting role, adding another layer to the film’s tapestry of city ambition and rural longing, as characters navigate loyalty, crime, love, and the hope of a new beginning.
