In a small Syrian village near the Turkish border during the early 1980s, a six-year-old Kurdish boy named Sero begins his first year of school. He witnesses firsthand the disruptive impact of rising nationalism and the radical shifts it brings to his familiar world. The film portrays a poignant look at childhood innocence confronted with political upheaval and cultural change.
