A Mauritanian named Sidi works in France, forced into the toughest, most hazardous jobs typical for immigrant laborers. He and his fellow workers are continuously exploited—by their employers and by compatriots who sell forged work papers and overcrowded slums at exorbitant prices. Confronted with racism and economic abuse, the immigrants begin to communicate, organize, and resist.
