He records each of their testimonies, insisting that every detail of the massacre – the police‑ordered baton charge, the Molotov‑laden huts, the killing of the kind‑hearted Thami and his dog, the child’s charred body, and the brutal murder of his mentor Basheer – be put on paper.

Armed with these statements, Varghese slips the dossier to a sympathetic High Court judge. The magistrate listens to his plain‑spoken account, sees the knife left by the army, and orders a forensic excavation of the forest clearing where the bodies were dumped. When the evidence is uncovered, the judge authorises an official inquiry that names DIG Keshavadas as the architect of the cover‑up and the man who ordered both Basheer’s death and the savage “neutralisation” of the protestors.

Keshavadas finally manages to seize Varghese, but the officer is already a fallen piece on the board. The police force is forced to file reports of the atrocities, and the surviving tribals are given a platform to speak in court. The film ends with the implication that the truth, though delayed, has pierced the wall of silence that the state erected, leaving the audience to contemplate the cost of justice in a world where power and poverty clash.
