Naadodigal

The film introduces Karunakaran Natraj, Paandi, and Chandran as inseparable friends living in Rajapalayam. Each has a personal dream: Karuna seeks a government job, Paandi wants to go abroad, and Chandran plans to start a computer center. They are supported by their families but face social expectations, especially Karuna's love for Nallammal and her protective father Sudalai.

Saravanan, Karuna's childhood friend, arrives with news of a love problem involving Prabha, daughter of Pazhanivelraman. His suicide attempt shocks the trio, who vow to help unite the lovers. The friends commit to intervening to secure the marriage despite the risks.

The trio travels to Namakkal and enlists Maariyappan to assist. They plot to bring the lovers together, navigating tense family dynamics and rival interests. Their bold plan sets the stage for a drastic move to secure the couple's union.

They succeed in abducting Prabha as she visits the Anjaneya temple, sparking a fracas between the two families. Karuna is scarred near the eye; Paandi loses hearing; Chandran loses a leg during the ensuing chaos. The event radically alters the lives of the three friends.

Palanivelraman's goons attack Karuna's family after realizing their involvement, and Karuna's grandmother is killed in the violence. The family is shattered as Karuna is arrested in the ensuing fallout. The tragedy tests their resolve and loyalty.

At the funeral, Sudalai insults Karuna, angering Natraj and Karuna's mother. He ultimately hangs himself, an act witnessed by Nallammal and her mother, with neighbors eventually intervening. The tragedy strains family ties and deepens the rift over Karuna's choices.

The trio is arrested in connection with the kidnapping but are later released as the case collapses over time. They return to a harsher life and begin working with a local wedding caterer, slowly adjusting to their new reality. Their disabilities and losses haunt them as they try to move on.

Pandi leaves his house after a public confrontation with his father; his deafness becomes a symbol of the rift between them. He declares his love for his father, who realizes his own selfishness but cannot stop him from going. The family is left to grapple with their changed relationship.

Chandran's father supports him, and Pavithra's love for Chandran is eventually accepted. Pavithra's wedding becomes possible with family backing, and Chandran adapts with a prosthetic leg while Pavithra's father lends his support. The couple's union signals a turn toward stability for the friends.

Karuna returns home traumatized by the grandmother's death, and the family laments his pain. His father urges him to give up Nallammal, and Karuna agrees, choosing to help as a caterer’s assistant instead. The loss drives him to reassess his past loyalties.

Karuna's fiancé's wedding is announced, prompting Pandi to confront the fiancé's family and defend Karuna's worth. Nallammal's loyalty is tested, as Sudalai's threats are revealed and she hesitates. Pandi's outburst nearly ends in tragedy, but Karuna intervenes and calms him, leaving Pandi devastated.

Pavithra and Chandran's relationship gains parental consent, and their marriage plans proceed with mutual support. Pandi's hearing returns and Chandran uses a prosthetic leg to walk again, symbolizing renewed hope for the trio. Karuna gradually lets go of Nallammal and looks toward a different future.

The case against the trio is withdrawn, and they learn that Saravana and his ex-wife intend to remarry. Realizing their sacrifices may have been in vain, the friends decide to confront Saravana and his partner to set a different example. Their bond remains tested but intact as they start reassessing their purpose.

The trio travels to Kanyakumari to talk sense to Saravana, but they are rebuffed. They regroup and plot to reclaim meaning by abducting Saravana and his partner to show the consequences of their follies. They take Saravana and the girl to a desolate forest and mete out a harsh lesson, then urge them to rethink their lives.

After the upheaval, they overhear at a tea stall that another man is organizing people to help his friend's love, and the trio volunteers to join. The episode hints at a renewed sense of purpose and a willingness to channel their experiences into helping others. The film ends on a note of cautious hope for the future.
