From childhood, Sakiko harbors an obsession with money, talking about savings and cash reserves. Her fixation isolates potential friends and pushes away suitors who are asked to prepay their dates. The seed of her quest is planted in these early years.

After college, Sakiko's family pushes her toward a bank teller job. She is hired but quickly becomes disillusioned as she spends her days counting other people's money. The job seems hollow compared to her dream of accumulating wealth.

Bank robbers kidnap Sakiko and confine her in a car trunk with a bright yellow suitcase full of stolen cash. The criminals’ plan falters as they take a wrong turn into the woods. The briefcase becomes the focal point of her mystery.

The thieves crash their car after taking a wrong turn in the forest. Sakiko escapes with the yellow suitcase, but tumbles into a river and is swept away. The escape marks a turning point as she loses the criminals’ trust and faces a dangerous escape from danger.

Sakiko lets go of the suitcase and tries to drown in the river, ending up in an underground pool. The self-destructive moment underscores her desperation to end the chase. It’s a grim gesture that leaves her fate uncertain.

Sakiko is washed downstream and rescued to medical facilities. The bank grants her medical leave as she recovers from her ordeals. This pause allows her to reconsider the price of her fixation.

After another collapse of her apartment floor under the weight of equipment, she escapes, steals from her family, and frames a research assistant for stealing a bag of money from the bank. She steals the assistant’s truck and heads to the woods to recover the suitcase.

She formally apologizes to her family for stealing from them, showing a softer side amid her relentless pursuit. On the radio, she hears about hidden treasures in the Bermuda Triangle and resolves to obtain a sailing license. The film ends with Sakiko hiding the yellow briefcase in the woods, leaving her future open.
