Five contestants, Matt, Emma, Charlie, Danny, and Rex, agree to participate in a six-month reality webcast where they must stay in a house to win $1 million. The rule is that if anyone leaves early, nobody wins the prize. The contestants are excited yet aware of the high stakes involved.

As the months progress, tensions rise among the contestants, especially after Emma finds strange messages from her past and receives unsettling letters. Food packages contain a message about Danny's grandfather's death and a gun with five bullets, increasing the suspicion and paranoia within the group.

A man named Travis Patterson arrives claiming to be lost in the woods with a dead GPS device. Despite claiming to be an internet programmer, he shows no recognition of the contestants or the show, adding to the mysterious atmosphere. Later, he has sex with Charlie and secretly communicates with viewers via a camera.

Travis leaves the house the next morning, leaving his backpack outside, which is covered in blood and shredded. The contestants initially believe he was attacked by an animal, but Rex suspects Travis is working for the show, implying foul play or a setup.

Emma finds her underwear among Danny’s belongings and confronts him, suspecting foul play. Danny denies any involvement and tries to reconcile with her by giving a carved wooden cat, but Emma and Charlie mock his gesture, raising tensions within the group.

The group finds Danny has committed suicide by hanging himself from the staircase balcony. His death shocks the contestants, prompting them to consider leaving the house, but they decide to wait until the next morning due to communication issues.

Rex uses Travis’s GPS and laptop to access the internet but only finds a heavily encrypted beta site showing their photos and betting odds, with no other evidence of the show’s existence. The group remains confused and suspicious about the true nature of their confinement.

While on the roof, Matt asks a camera if he should kill Charlie, then suffocates her with a plastic bag. This act of murder signifies the toll the experience has taken on the contestants and underscores the manipulative environment they are in.

Rex is decapitated with an axe by Matt in the house. Emma later runs outside and finds a police officer, but he quickly handcuffs her inside the car before entering the house. The situation spirals into chaos as the remaining contestants try to escape or survive.

Emma attempts to escape but is shot in the back with a rifle by the police officer, revealing a betrayal. Matt and the officer are shown working together to stage the entire setup for wealthy clients who want to watch the murders, exposing the gruesome premeditation behind the game.

The police officer leaves after shooting Matt, who had corrected him about the number of players. Emma is shown locked in a small room, screaming for help as the cameras around her shut off one by one, ending the twisted spectacle of the deadly game.
