Two spinsters on their way to church are accosted by a pair of burly tramps. When Mabel is called away to a meeting with her mother, she leaves a note for Muggsy, asking him to meet her after the service so he can walk her home. Muggsy arrives on time, but the elderly women fear the return trip alone. The pastor requests a male escort, and Muggsy is chosen. As the trio reaches a deserted stretch of road, the same tramps reappear, forcing Muggsy to confront the threat and protect the women.
