A modern Brazilian retelling of the Faust legend follows the heir of a bankrupt cigarette factory who, amid a personal crisis, abandons his life and heads for a supposed paradise he saw advertised by a tourist agency, believing it will bring self‑knowledge. In his search he is driven and tempted by a Mephistopheles‑type figure, echoing the classic pact.
