In late 19th century France, Louise Violet, a forty-year-old teacher from Paris, is assigned to a rural community. There, she faces the challenge of persuading local parents to prioritize education for their children, whose lives are deeply connected to the land and the changing seasons. With the mayor’s assistance, she slowly gains acceptance, but her past unexpectedly resurfaces, creating new obstacles. Despite these difficulties, Miss Violet remains steadfast in her conviction that education is vital for a brighter future.
